Sports: The Most Hi-Tech Palarong Pambansa Ever!

To all the sporty people out there here’s a way to be keep updated on the Palarong Pambansa 2012 that yearly held at Lingayen, Pangasinan. Thus, Palarong Pambansa 2012 invades the Digital World!
The Provincial Government of Pangasinan is busy with the improving of the sports facilities and adding more infrastructures to make sure that the more than fifteen thousand athletes and DepEd Personnel will have an experience of a lifetime for the Palarong Pambansa 2012. Tasked by Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr to help make this Palaro the benchmark of the future Palarong Pambansa their team shall utilize the internet to reach for more audience and sports enthusiast regardless of the location who are not able to come to Pangasinan to witness the palaro, thus, they came up with the live streaming.

The Provincial Government and the Palaro Committee introduced the Social Media Command Center (SMMC) the first of its kind in the Philipppines for Palaro and Pista’s Dayat 2012 twin event celebration. The center is put up to serve the visitors and the public about the 3 primary concerns:

One. Security and Public Safety. Since they are expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors, one of the main concerns of this department is to ensure public safety. They will monitor social media channels for traffic situations, parking recommendations, homestay recommendations and anything that could be considered “security concern” or suspicious behavior.

Two. Service and Information. In delivering the ultimate Palaro sa Asinan Experience, they need to highlight and showcase the tourism and hospitality of Pangasinan – providing directions, guidance and navigation, offering information about Palaro Schedules, on-going events, side events to visitors and tourists. They will also respond to dialogues related to the Province or to the event in Twitter and in Facebook, as soon as possible.

Three. Hospitality and Capturing the Palaro Experience. Gather information, post images and videos, write content and share the Palarong Pambansa 2012 experience to the world. To share what’s happening when, where, and capture it, publish it and share. Most importantly, the SMMC does not just monitor conversations; it also curates and communicates it highlighting positive things related to Pangasinan, the Palarong Pambansa 2012 using digital channels to spread the experience.

Rest assured that the visitors and the public can have the offline and online assistance during their stay in Pangasinan Number 1- the best place to live, work, invest and raise a family.
