2nd PFF Suzuki U23 National Cup Luzon Leg Kicks-off in Laguna

Finally, I was able to watch a live Football game last Saturday, April 01, 2012 held at Laguna. Not with the Philippines Azkals Team but with Chieffy Caligdong, one of the Philippine Azkals finest though. An exciting ball game that made everyone be amaze whenever someone hits the goal. Now I already understand why my officemate/friends over gaga with football and even have VL/SL everytime the Philippines Azkals Team have a game in our country. I thought because of the handsome faces we have on our football team but boy, I was wrong. It was truly the game that gives an intense feeling when you are watching the guys running back and forth and chasing for the ball. Oh well, maybe next time I will be one of them though. ツ.
Going back to the Football Game I have watched, it was the 2nd PFF Suzuki U23 National Cup Luzon Leg Kicks-off. To give you a synopsis about this leg, kindly read on…

Efforts to sustain the Filipinos’ interest in football have just gotten another holler with the reaffirmation of Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH) and the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) to once again, start the ball rolling for the PFF Suzuki Under-23 (U23) National Cup this year.  And last April 1, the grand kick-off of the Luzon leg happens at the Calamba Football Field in Laguna, with a head-to-head match between Laguna and Oriental Mindoro booters.
As dubbed as the local adaptation of the AFF Suzuki Cup, the PFF Suzuki U23 National Cup is the most celebrated football competition organized by the ASEAN Football Federation for football-competing national teams in the Southeast Asian region. According to Mr. Shuzo Hoshikura, SPH General Manager for Automobile, “the humble, yet competitive spirit of our Philippine Men’s National Football team reflects the brand of Suzuki that we all know of. This tournament will be an avenue for the Filipinos to discover a more diverse and talented pool of budding booters.”

As we have always stressed, we are strongly committed to the Philippines. We have seen the likes of Joshua Beloya,  Neckson Leonora, and Gerardo Valmayor III, all products of the PFF Suzuki U23 National Cup join the Philippine Men’s National U23 Football squad, who competed in the SEA Games slated in Indonesia last year. They, together with their teams, are living testimonies why SPH continue to pledge for the sports’ development in the country.”
Moreover, this year’s PFF Suzuki U23 cup is a preparation for the SEA Games U23 cup in 2013. Meanwhile, it is always nice to see these people fulfilling their dreams and living for their passion.
