Beach

I will never get tired of you because I am an islander and totally a beach bum! Now, I am planning that my year 2015 will be all about travel. At least once a month. Philippines has a lot more of surprises for it to discover and more adventure yet to explore. I am getting ready for it, I should be mentally and physically fit. With that said, since my schedule at work will be changing, too! I allotted more time for exercises. I’ll go back to my old routine – to run or jog at the Ayala Triangle at wee hours.

Meanwhile, being on a beach also means being responsible. Both for the environment and for yourself, too! Thus, there are precautions that one should keep in mind.

No littering. It sounds easy but hard to follow. Seeing some candy and snack wrappers along the beach is totally an eye-sore. That’s what I felt when I visited Nagsasa Cove in Zambales. Well, I’ve read a lot of good things about it and seen beautiful photos but when I totally landed to the land, I felt very much disappointed. Not a perfect scene to capture photos. Plastics and different kind of trashes welcome us on the shore and you can’t even swim with those wastes around you. That was sometime in April. So, campers and travelers, be responsible.

Wear Sunblock. Yeah, you should also protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. It is not being “maarte” or being so vain or whatsoever but putting sunscreen or sunblock is a must. Not just for the girls but for the boys, too! It is a must for everyone. I can’t really recommend which is best because every product has its own kind. For me, I love to try everything to find my perfect match, but for the characteristics, I go for lightweight, not sticky, and waterproof as I love doing water activities. Guys and gals, please don’t be too harsh to your skin, Let me cite some benefits of it, well, you can’t really tell it as early as of now but 20 years after, you’ll be thankful you did. And that’s one of the things I regret doing during my early days. I am in my late 20’s and in a hurry of doing so. How I wish I could turn back time.

1.  The ozone layer is depleting and your body needs shielding from harmful rays.
2.  Skin Cancer rates are on the rise and sunscreen has been proven to drecrease the development of it.
3.  Prevents facial brown spots and skin discolorations. (Arghh… I have on my cheeks and nose.)
4.  Slows down signs of aging such as wrinkles and the likes.

I know there are a lot of things to be considered and taken care of, most especially, when we travel. I just mentioned a few that, for me, most important thing to go on with our life the way we envisioned it. Just keep chasing your dreams, the right way! Keep safe and dry, Darlings!
