Hotel Staycation: InterContinental Hotel Manila – Day 1

After having a great sale during the 3-day Super Sale Bazaar in World Trade Center, my partners and I decided to treat ourselves in a one night staycation somewhere in Makati. Well, we first thought of New World Hotel but we found it too costly that we can’t afford yet that luxurious stay. Thus, after scouting some 4-5 star hotels in the Metro, basically in Ortigas and Makati, we ended up with InterContinental Hotel. Well, we first thought of Linden Suites in Ortigas ‘coz of the cozy bar & swimming pool (photos searched in Google) however, due to some uncertain things happened we considered that we should stay within Makati. New World Makati is one of hotels we were eager to spend our night because it also our company’s hotel whenever there is visitor/guest. We thought that if that is the case we could get discount but it only applies for Business transaction only so we better moved on.

It was last minute decision to stay at InterContinental Hotel because I still found it costly for having an overnight stay of P6500 as their published rate. Good thing, I called them first and I was glad that they have P4500 promo rates for local residents. Yihee! Though it is only good for 2 and they only allowed max of 3 adults in one room. Moving forward, Yani and I checked in at around 2:30pm as I came from the office and the other two girls will be there at around 5-6pm ‘coz they still have some errands to attend to, well, good thing that’s the case, Yani and I still have time to rest and took some room photos.

We have a superior/deluxe room which I already posted herehaving twin bed in it. Perfect! It can fit 4 girls that are just having fun. Ha-ha. Sorry InterContinental but another room is not an option because if we were not staying in one room then what’s the point of having a staycation, but don’t worry, because we paid an extra P1,316 for each person for their buffet breakfast, which we found out at the later part that was not a good idea. Simply because you don’t replenish food even though there were still guest eating/having their breakfast and the selection is limited at the Jeepney Manila Restaurant. Never mind. We were there because we wanted to spend days being with our friends – you know, talking about goals, ideas, plans, future, work, guys, girl stuff, travel, next staycation, and whatnots. That’s what matters to us!

The hotel has an elegant interior design that we couldn't help it but have a lot of photos. Thanks to Drej, who's been very supportive friend and photographer as well.

Finally at 8pm, everyone’s ready to go out and hunt for restaurant that would give us a decent dinner in the nearby establishments. Can you guess where? Ha-ha. Of course, at Greenbelt! Since we were on a hotel staycation mode and trying to be a tourist, we made it to be extra special, so we had a succulent Korean dinner at Bulgogi. After that we headed to Starbucks just across InterContinental Hotel to chill and have some awesome talks about our life and everything in between ‘til past 1am and decided to call it a night.

Day 2 will be all about buffet breakfast and swimming day! Nytie-nytie!
