Sweet City Escape at aurumOne Hotel – Makati City, PH

Nowadays, staycation or having a short vacation comes handy with the numerous beautiful hotels all over the metropolis. Well, I am a fan of it. I’ll make sure that once in a while, I had to have a sweet escape even though it is within the Metro – spontaneously! And today’s post is all about my 3-day and 2-night staycation at aurumOne Hotel

The use of this 360° virtual tour of Aurum One Makati is authorized by Traveloka.

If you’re following my Instagram account - @aylinvedad - (wishing you do!) I bet, you already have an idea on how the short vacation went on but to those who are not yet following me, please do so. *smile* Hint: It was lovely and all pleasures.

Welcome to aurumOne Hotel - Makati!

It was one raining Friday afternoon when we checked-in at aurumOne Hotel located at 1682 Evangelista Street corner Hen. Del Pilar Street, Bangkal, Makati City. It is mainly located at the boundary of Makati City and Pasay City and 10-15 minutes away from the airport. AurumOne has a white and clean architecture, it has a modern facilities and standing tall in the vicinity of the busy area of Evangelista Street which connotes that absolutely, a great time awaits for us.

aurumOne suite

More so, aurumOne Makati is the hotel choice for the young professional, businessmen and even travelers who wants to experience a great service at a budget-friendly price. And did you know that, they’re also partnered with airlines so whenever there is cancelled flight due to some mishaps or prohibited by the weather, aurumOne is one of the hotels to stay. Well, aside from it is near from the airport, it is also near from the Makati Central Business District, Ayala Malls such as Greenbelt and Glorietta, as well as Mall of Asia in Pasay City. So, even if the hotel has no swimming pool there’s always something for you to do and go because AurumOne is very accessible to the places I’ve mentioned above because public transportation is always available. It has no restaurant or café though but there’s a Family Mart, a convenience store within the building for your quick fix snacks or whatnot.

The staffs greeted us with their smile upon entering the hotel and accompanied us to our hotel room. It was already 4pm when we checked-in because traffic sucks plus it was raining, standard time is at 2pm though. We had a spacious and elegant room which is called the aurumOne Suite, equipped with 32-inch LCD TV with cable, comfortable king-sized bed with 4 soft big pillows, hot and cold bath, towels, closet with hangers and safety box, complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea, and a coffee table. And oh, there’s also FREE Wi-Fi. What I like in this hotel is that, your room is already setup – the air-conditioner is already on, giving us a refreshing vibe upon entering the room.

After doing some photoshoot here and there and in every corner of the room which is neat and tidy, we decided to just buy some snacks at the Family Mart downstairs and take a rest. A supposedly nap became sleep, blame it to the lenient bed, feather-like pillows and comfy sheets… and the coldness of the room. Ha-ha. Well, since it was already 9pm then, we just decided to buy foods for dinner at the Family Mart again and looks forward for buffet breakfast the next day.

See? Can you already feel how relaxed and convenient our staycation in AurumOne was? Meanwhile, we had chicken meals, instant noodles and siopao for me. Ok, we managed to satisfy our hungry tummy and had that burp as a sign of contentment. Afterwards, we went back to our bed and watch a movie until the movie watched us. Gee… we fell asleep while the TV is on.

aurumOne Makati, a 8-storey building which provides a 4-star quality service, but for me feels like a 5-star, also features 63 hotel rooms – 42 aurum Deluxe Rooms, 9 qurum Suites (we’re lucky that the one belongs to us for 3 days), 11 aurum Lofts (looking forward for next time to stay here though as per Mr. Rolf Navarro, the Duty Manager, this is for long term use. So, it was like renting your own space in Makati and yet experience a lifestyle that satisfy one’s needs.
It is perfect for businessmen and to those who just have training and seminars.), and 1 qurum Premier Suite (very much lucky if we stayed here). qurumOne is also a social enterprise that provides investment opportunities to OFWs. Thanks to the joint collaboration between a private equity group and the Kapatiran sa Kasaganaan Cooperative (KsKCoop), an investment-focused cooperative of OFWs, for this kind of venture because now our modern hero has already a passive income while they’re working in abroad. Kudos!

The alarm set at 7 in the morning was too overexcited to wake us up then but thank you to its snooze feature that ended us to missed the buffet breakfast. We woke up at around 10:30 and no more breakfast served at the Breakfast Nook. It’s okay, we still have the next day. With that said, we went to Greenbelt for lunch, watch a movie, did a little shopping and went back to the hotel at around seven or eight in the evening.

a friendly reminder

Freshened up and had dinner at the nearby Mang Inasal. Yes, fast food chains such as Jollibee, McDonalds, Mang Inasal and Andok’s are more or less 500-meters away from aurumOne Hotel. Mercury Drugstore and 7-11 is also available nearby. As I said, it has a good location. If you feel that you need some car fix or want to buy vehicle spare parts, the long stretch of Evangelista Street was like “Banawe of Quezon City” wherein car tints or any vehicle-related accessories are available. That’s how our second day went on. We managed to sleep early to wake up just in time for the much awaited buffet breakfast.

Finally, buffet breakfast for us on our third day at the Breakfast Nook. The catering is outsourced though so expect that the daily breakfast is different from the other day, which I think, it is okay. Breakfast was good though limited choices but having this awesome view of Makati skyline was breathtaking and worth the early wake up call. After breakfast, Mr. Rolf toured me around the hotel and showed me the different hotel’s room which is I am very much thankful and grateful for such warm gesture. Well, other hotel rooms are also spacious like we had and have the same furniture. All rooms have uniform interior design and furniture, they’re using customized uratex foams and their customized cabinets and closets were from their supplier in Valenzuela.

And here’s the sad part, check-out. But, nevertheless, it was a wonderful short vacation, we had fun and we stayed in our hotel room much longer than we were in the outside. Perhaps, it is one of the pros when having a staycation within the metro, no need to go out and explore the area. Just stay, relax and regain the needed energy to conquer the hustle and bustle of the city life. And before I ended my post, I would like to say “Thank You” to all the staffs that made our staycation more pleasurable and to Mr. Rolf for making sure that we are in all comfort and having a great time during those days. Thank You!
