The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay, Baguio City, Benguet

Whenever I travel, a staycation in a posh or luxury hotel is included in my itinerary. Usually, it will be on a last day where no more activity needs to be done but more of relaxation and just rest – savoring the true meaning of having a vacation leave. Yes, I don’t want to get back at home and report at work looking tired and groggy.

With that having said, I want to share with you all our stay at The Forest Lodge located at Camp John Hay, Baguio City, Benguet. I would say, Camp John Hay is the quiet and serene part of Baguio City. It is less crowded and covered with Pine trees, perfect location for an early morning jog and afternoon coffee session. And that’s where The Forest Lodge standing proud with its great location. The lobby is elegant and sophisticated, it has fire place, a music and library room and a live band at night every Saturday playing your favorite acoustic songs that gives a romantic vibes. Baguio is known for its cold weather so might as well buy sherpa fleece blankets before going there or have fun looking one at the night market.

and there's more in case it gets crowded

Checking-in was quick – present an ID and after a couple of minutes we were heading to our Deluxe Room. I was at awe when I opened the door – it was huge for the two of us and its 40 square meter-size is spacious enough to roam around – way perfect to spend a day of doing nothing but to relax, chill and enjoy its amenities. Well, I spent most of my time not in the room but in the music and library room at the lobby area. The timeless and quality music from the past soothes my senses and it always has magic that would give an instant inner peace. It’s a laid back moment where the clock slowly ticking.

At night, we had a sound sleep. The bed with soft linen and pillows gave us a comfy sleep while the blanket or comforter provided us the warmth that we needed throughout the night. Indeed, it was a great night. We woke up re-energized, happy and relax.

Our booked hotel room doesn’t include breakfast because we wanted to try Chocolate-de-Batirol which is a 5-minute walk from The Forest Lodge. Everything tasted good and delectable. Right after breakfast we went back to the hotel, took a nap and woke up just in time for check-out.

To sum it up, everything was great and it was a wonderful stay. Definitely, I would still stay at this hotel and yes, I’ve recommending this hotel to my family and close friends and I am proud to say that, the liked it, too. Until next time!

P.S. It’s my birth month and planning to go up north and be in Baguio in last week of March. So, I hope to see you there!
