Potatoes for Happy and Healthy Kids

I always choose to eat healthy. I just find that I feel much better when I follow a balanced diet and couple it, of course, with regular exercise.

Now, I also make it a point to share my nutritious food finds with people who matter most to me and they include my most favorite kids in the universe, my nieces! Yes, I spoil them a lot. You can say I am a classic konsintedor Tita. (^_^)

I am in-charge of bringing food whenever we travel and some of the easiest goodies to prepare are mashed potato topped with grated cheese, potato fries and potato balls. They love all my potato creations!

Potatoes are not only delicious, but they also provide the energy, carbohydrates and potassium to help boost kids’ energy. My nieces are super active little ones, and they sure need an extra boost of energy to sustain them throughout the day (whenever we travel or when they are in school).

Happy times with the little kiddo. Energy level = 100%

Fun times never stop with you!

And to guarantee that we get the optimum nutrients from potato, I make sure they are potatoes from Potatoes USA! U.S. potatoes like frozen, tablestock (fresh) and dehydrated can now be purchased from major supermarkets and groceries nationwide.

Their website (www.potatogoodness.com) is a great source of potato recipes. They present innovative and delicious meals that parents and titas like me can prepare for kids. It’s perfect because kids can be really picky eaters. It even inspired me to start making my own easy-to-prep 5-day potato meal plan. I want to lead by example and hopefully encourage my nieces and readers to practice healthy, happy living. (^_^)

And speaking of creative, yummy recipes, Potatoes USA-Philippines recently conducted a cooking workshop at the Diliman Preparatory School in Quezon City that was attended by members of the school’s Little Chef’s Club. Chef Kristine Lotilla showed them how to make Broccoli Cheddar Potato Puffs and Chocolate Mashed Potato Truffles.
