Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites: Your Stylish Home in Boracay

With the new Boracay Island after its rehabilitation, I didn’t have any expectation simply because, I have seen Boracay Island before it became too commercialized, where station 1, 2 and 3 were not yet existing, and boat can dock anywhere in the beachfront. Those were the days where nipa huts were the only accommodation. That’s why, I was happy when it was being closed and underwent rehabilitation for months last year, though constructions and road widening are still ongoing, it was great that there were more people enjoying the beach now. More people were swimming at the beach and strolling at the seashore. It was still crowded, and yet, more peaceful and more relaxing. Rehabilitation really did something great to Boracay Island. Meanwhile, as much as I wanted at the beachfront hotel, I opted for more homey ambiance having a bit of modern facilities so that I can explore more of the island and see what changed and still, have a more laid-back vacation.

Together with my sister and her friends, we stayed at Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites, located at Brgy. Bolabog, a 5-minute walk to D’Mall, not that far from the main road but have a perfect location to feel the homey vibes in the island and yet strategically located in the middle of attractions, beaches and convenience stores. By the way, Bolabog Beach is also walking distance from the hotel.

    Joyful Welcome

We were greeted by colorful and lively design of the Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites lobby. Its vibrant architectural design loaded with real plants placed at the corner gave us a cozy and happy atmosphere that made us feel comfy as we stepped inside. It has a high ceiling that lets the natural light comes in, thus, it was bright and airy.

To add, we were warmly welcomed by the staff with an all-out smile all throughout our stay and didn’t miss to greet us whenever we were around. It has a total of 43 rooms with five different room types such as Superior Queen, Superior Twin, Deluxe King, Junior Suite, and Garden Suite. We booked a Superior Queen and Superior Twin Rooms for a comfortable stay.

We arrived early, and our room is not yet available that time, so we just asked if we can leave our luggage and luckily, they can. Our things were well-stored and taken care of, so we were carefree to stroll around, grabbed late breakfast slash early lunch and did nothing at the white beach but appreciating its beauty while waiting for our room to be ready.

    Spacious Rooms

We came back to the hotel just in time for check-in and was amazed how spacious our room and the toilet’s so roomy that even we hang our wet clothes there, we can still move comfortably. The bed was so soft and what caught my attention were the pillows – it was labeled soft and firm. So yeah, you can lay on bed and have your head rest on your preferred pillow, I prefer mine soft though. At the bedside table, there’s a wooden clock that can be used as an alarm clock and Bluetooth speaker. I love playing my go-to-music for sleeping before bedtime, so I was very happy that I can relax ‘til I fall asleep and at the same time charge my phone.

working while watching, why not? ^_^

Also, there’s a desk placed perpendicularly to the TV screen on which I used as a monitor. Ha-ha. Well, if work is inevitable you will probably enjoy it and be more productive having that big screen. With that having said, I was able to sneak in some works while on vacation without feeling of doing work at all. Or perhaps, have some coffee or tea while being entertained by a TV show.

    Happy Hour

When in Boracay Island, you shouldn’t miss watching the sunset. Well, during this trip, I did it differently. I had one of the best sunsets in the island by staying at the hotel’s rooftop swimming pool while having my favorite margarita served by Dip Pool & Bar. Ahh… having the best day of my life – booze, music and sunset! Time ticking fast when we were having fun, why is that so? And just like that… it’s time to recharge for lots of fun happenings the next day.

On our 2nd night, we had a romantic dinner at The Ruf Bar & Restaurant. The setup was so dreamy... and well, romantic! Aside from the palatable dishes served to us, they made us feel loved that they have my photo printed. I always love personalized gesture like this.

    Sumptuous Breakfast

What I always look forward in my vacations is the breakfast that’s I always opted for a hotel that comes with a free breakfast on my hotel booking. Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites serves its breakfast buffet at Brick & Basil Restaurant located at the Ground Floor. Though, the viands were quite limited it was delicious and perfectly fits for a queen and king ready to rule the day.

They have cornflakes, pancakes and waffles to those who wanted for a light meal or maybe those in a diet. Hot coffee, hot chocolate (that I made it cold drink by putting ice cubes) and juice were also available to quench the thirst and oomph up my day. On our second day, we chose to had breakfast at WB40 Restaurant of The Ferra Premier by JG (they’re sisters of Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites, by the way!) which is also located in the ground floor. Though, food offerings during breakfast were quite the same, their specialty is waffle – fluffy, soft and yummy!

    Surprises!!!

And time for checkout came to life… ugh, I hate the feeling of sepanx (separation anxiety) every time my vacation is over and do the process of packing my things and surrendering the key card to the front desk. It made me, somewhat, gee… cry. And before an ibid goodbye to the staff and people who made our stay filled with beautiful memories, we heard a birthday song as the elevator opens. Yay! Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites staff surprised our friend. They got balloons and cake and singing a birthday song to my sister’s friend – Glowin.

He’s overwhelmed with the loving gestures of the staff that made him teary-eyed all throughout. Well, I loved how the staff exerted an extra mile to make their guest fulfilled and happy during their stay. I salute for such kind of customer service – truly rewarding!
