A Quick Guide to Coron, Palawan

Life is good when we are having fun, indeed! Despite of the hustle and bustle of the city life, one can always escape and live a life that would make him or her rejuvenate his or her lost senses. As for my case, traveling nearby by land or by air is one my sweet escapes from crazy and chaotic metropolis. Don’t let the stress gets in, there’s always a fresh air to breath somewhere out there.

Thus, when I got an opportunity to visit Coron, Palawan, I quickly grabbed the offer. Who says NO to its beauty, pristine sea water, magnificent limestone cliff, lush green mountains, rich flora and fauna, and breath taking islands? Aside from it'll be my first time to visit this cerulean paradise and I’m sure I’ll keep coming back there because it really captured my heart and I know there’s more to explore. Yeah, I still don’t have the postcard photo with the Twin Lagoon, so wait for my comeback. Ha-ha.

Meanwhile, let me share with you guys some of the wheres, whats and hows of this trip and plus a 3-day and 2-night itinerary for the first-timer (Or perhaps, for someone who just like to have a relaxing vacation like I did.) So, here's a quick travel guide to Coron, Palawan. You're welcome!

Where to Stay?


Asia Grand View Hotel offers a tranquil ambiance with an ocean view while dining at Bayview Restaurant. It has amenities that will keep you company if you just wanted to stay at the hotel and just have a relaxing vacation. The hotel is surrounded by the Mother Earth’s beauty giving you a breath of fresh air and wonderful stay. The infinity swimming pool is also perfect for a quick dip while sipping your favorite cocktail, mocktail or mango shake. What to Eat?


I can’t recommend that much with regards to the place or restaurant that offers good food. But I assure you that Bayview Restaurant offers a variety of food that caters Filipino dishes suited for travelers like you.

What to Do?


Island Hopping! …and lots of it! A day or two is not enough to explore Coron as it is composed of many breath-taking islands such as Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, CYC Island, Pass Island and many more. 

Have a relaxing afternoon at Maquinit Hot Spring afterwards, surely it will soothes your aching body and muscles. 

Looking for an adventure, conquer the 700+ steps of Mt. Tapyas and indulge with the stunning view of Coron during sunrise or sunset.

Culion Island is also worth a visit. Visit the century old built in Spanish era, The Church of Immaculate Conception, learn about leprosy and how the town of Culion coped up through visiting Culion Museum and Archive

Cashew nut, wood carving, native bag, chandelier made of shell are some of the items you can buy as keepsake, souvenirs and pasalubong.

How to Get There?


By Air:
Major local airlines flies to Busuanga several times daily and the standard ETA would be 1 hour. While, Skyjet Airlines could take you in Busuanga Airport (the closest airport in Coron) in just 30 minutes.

Skyjet Airlines flies every Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 10:30AM from Manila (NAIA Terminal 4) to Coron.

By Sea:
A 12-hour trip from Manila to Coron Port via 2GO or super ferry. Kindly check their website for fare and schedule.
