The GRAND Stay at City Garden GRAND Hotel

Well, with all the high rise buildings in Makati, I’m sure you already noticed that some of those are hotels for it loudly stands among the crowd. That’s why, passing almost every day in Makati Avenue made us (the boyfie and I) wonder how it is way convenient to stay in one of those hotels that we are so eager and determined to experience by ourselves. And with that, what’s more pleasing to me is that the idea of having everything in a hotel - great food, strategic location, grand hotel with a rooftop bar! Yes, staying at City Garden GRAND Hotel made my experience even grandeur because I was able to hang out with my friend while our boyfriends slept at the comfy bed at our respective rooms. Hmmm... sounds like a celebration right? Indeed, it was... a girls’ night out came to life.

The location of City Garden GRAND Hotel is situated in a very strategic point. Located between Makati Ave. and Kalayaan Ave. and it is just a few blocks away from A. Venue Mall, Century City Mall and the P. Burgos area - a famouslocation for night outs, parties, bars and restaurants. Meanwhile, I am happy to see that this particular area — Barangay Poblacion — in Makati City is back to life and improved a lot better. Today, with all the improvements and new establishments such as hotels, retails, and entertainment center along the area, the place is now a home for party-goers, bar-hoppers, food trippers and for anyone who just wanted to chill and relax while enjoying the panoramic view of Makati skyline.

welcoming us with a Blueberry Cheesecake!

To add, City Garden GRAND Hotel is a few minutes away from shopping malls and cinemas such as Rockwell, Greenbelt and Glorietta. So if you feel exploring the city even more, then it won’t be a problem at all. Also, convenience stores are available nearby so no need to worry about craving for something during wee hours or if you tend to forgot important stuff. If you’re a business traveler, Makati CBD is just a couple of minutes’ drive away from the hotel.

To those who will bring their car, parking is available. Though, going to the parking is quite a challenge as the way to the level parking seems too steep and narrow, you may always opt out for a valet parking, their friendly staffs will assist you with that. Don’t forget the pass and have it signed by the receptionist upon checkout. We were welcomed by a classy hotel’s lobby. The chandeliers sophisticatedly hanging on the ceiling gives that quaint vibes and already has a classy connotation that we will having a great grand time on which we did! City Garden GRAND Hotel is a 4-star hotel, by the way. The hotel lobby is very spacious and there are lots of seats and couches that guests could relax while waiting.

It includes adjustable air-conditioning unit, a 42 inches LED TV with cable channels, Free Wi-Fi access, mini fridge, coffee, tea and complimentary bottled water. Inside the huge closet, they’ll provide you laundry bags, bathrobes, slippers, iron and ironing board, cloth hangers, and in-room safety-deposit box. Higher floor means better view that’s why I always asked for a higher floor whenever I stay in a hotel within the city. We have this captivating view from our window that made me thinks about my dreams and even dream higher. Well, nothing is impossible if one is persistent enough and do a lot of hard work to make it becomes a reality, right? I had a great view if Makati Bel-Air Village towards Buendia Avenue traversing Makati Avenue at my left. So, here I am dreaming that someday I’m going to own a property in Makati. *wink* Well, I loved to be sitting at our room’s sofa with an ottoman and enjoying my great taste coffee while having this view.

At night, we had a great time at Spice Café located at the 7th floor. We enjoyed the groovy songs and romantic sounds brought to us by the Big Bash Band which is dubbed as “Dance Through the Decades” a fun and exciting night during Friday and Saturday for a 70s and 80s kind of music night, Spice Café opens its door from 7PM-12MN and for only P698, you’ll experience the live music performance from of Big Bash Band, with unlimited drinks (alcoholic/non) and unlimited pica-pica. By the way, the Shake Salmon Sashimi was a bomb! You should try it, it’s a must!

Shake Salmon Shashimi - a must try!

Because the night was still young after that “Dance through the Decades” moments, located at the 32nd floor, the roof deck of the hotel is one of the most sought-after spots in Makati City. You’ll definitely love the panoramic views and enjoy the breathtaking views of Makati skyline which is way colorful and wonderful at night. My girlfriend and I had our regular margarita session at the Firefly Roofdeck while catching up with our lives and did the usual girl talk! It was an awesome experience to capped the day off.

the happy staycationer!

What makes me more excited with staycation is that – buffet breakfast! Well, I love eating who does not, by the way. We had our breakfast at Spice Café. There was a wide array of food to choose from - cereal, different kinds of breads and pastries, spreads, dessert and fruit section. And oh, the cheese haven was a top notched for me! Yes, you read it right, for cheese-lovers like me, you are going to try different kinds of cheese. By the way, bacon is available and others such as ham, sausages, eggs, and Pinoy breakfast favorites. Noodles, soups, curries, dim sums, and other oriental dishes are also present. And to vegetable –lovers, there is a salad bar for you!

My friend and I decided to meet at the pool after breakfast. Well, I did enjoy that Jacuzzi as much as my friend enjoyed the swimming pool at the 32nd floor, same floor where the Firefly Roofdeck is located.  The hotel also offers other facilities like the fitness gym and the La Famosa Spa. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to try'em which are both located at the 9th floor.

Our hotel choice for a staycation in Makati is beyond expectation. The location is very convenient. And being at Firefly Roofdeck bar was our favorite part, time spent with my loved ones are always the best ones. All of the staffs are very welcoming, courteous and friendly. And everything was really a grand experience. So yeah, City Garden Grand Hotel really live for its promises – having a grand time at Manila’s liveliest neighborhoods. ‘til next!
