Eat’s A Date – O’sonho: The Portuguese Fusion

Eat’s A Date, an OpenRice.Com food escapade and this time OpenRicer were going to Portugal, to taste some Portuguese delightful foods and yes, I am so lucky to be part of this food adventure. Ha-ha. But we don’t need passports and airplane tickets just to go there because Manila has its own version of Portuguese Fusion and we found that in Makati – the O’sonho Restobar!

O’sonho (o-son-nyo) is taking the chic dining experience to a whole new level with their mouthwatering cuisine, reasonable prices, ample portions and classy ambiance.
Being one of the few (if not the only) Portuguese restaurant in Manila, this type of cuisine is unique, healthy (the only oil they use is olive), bursting with flavor, and definitely something that Manila’s dining public will love.  What’s more delightful is the way they artfully combine the distinct taste of Portuguese food with those of other countries such as Spanish, Australian and of course, Filipino to give each dish an international flair.

O’sonho means “the dream” in Portuguese. O’sonho reflects the passion and love for delicious food,  relaxing ambience and in a nutshell, value for every peso.  Manila’s diners cannot be fooled. They know quality when they taste it and this is why O’sonho has become one of the most popular dining experiences in Manila.
Must try dishes include their double bacon wrapped tenderloin steak, espetada de carne (seafood, vegetable and meat skewers), picado (Portuguese version of the salpicao), seabass, paellas, and of course their Peri Peri chicken marinated in their signature  peri peri sauce. The sumptuous dessert like the below were just too good to ignore! They were not that sweet, so I guess it makes less sinful.  Ha-ha
Having been open for only a little over a year, its growing popularity is dumbfounding. Just goes to show you that the discerning diner knows a jewel when they see it.
