RiCo Corn Rice – your way to yummy healthy life!

Hooray Monday! I just started my week right and yummy healthy! How about you my dear? Well, I hope and wish you do the same and as of this writing, you already celebrating the best moment of your life.

More so, I’d attended an eye-opener to a healthy lifestyle event earlier held at Chef Jessie, Club Rockwell, Amorsolo Bldg., Makati City, the grand launch of RiCo Corn Rice. Yeah, it’s all about eating the healthy way without sacrificing a lot. Like for example, ones has to use the stairs instead of escalator or elevator, walking instead of riding a vehicle, all we need is to push ourselves to that extra step towards a healthier life and happier individual. I know most of you, would agree with me. Well, one of favorite routines during weekends or off work is to do the household chores, instead of, sitting down and watching TV.

So with that said, let me introduce to you guys and gals an alternative to the ordinary rice but without depriving ourselves from the pleasure of a good meal, thus, we still have the best of both worlds while enjoying its health benefits, the RiCo Corn Rice. RiCo corn rice is made 100% Philippine-grown corn; yeah it is locally made, fortified with iron and calcium. It is shaped like rice through the help of technology and machineries for us to savor the look and feel of ordinary rice and yet have the nutrition corn offers. Each grain is rich in antioxidants and Vitamin A as well asbeta-carotene and lutein which are good for eyesight, it also provides sustained energy as a complex carbohydrates. Corn is also known for its high fiber content, a quality valued by the figure-conscious, ehem… like me and those who want to lose weight. It is also good for diabetics, because it has no cholesterol and has lower glycemic index for controlled and balanced sugar.

During the launch earlier, RiCo’s very own Chef Joey dela Cruz demonstrated the three easy steps of cooking RiCo. You just have to keep in mind these three letters – BPS.
Boil – Boil the suggested amount of water.
Pour – Pour the desired amount of water.
Simmer – Simmer for about 10-15minutes.
That’s it, easy peasy steps, right? But you have to take note that you do not need to wash RiCo Corn Rice as it is already cleaned before doing the process of making it into a rice-shaped grains. Plus, if you wash it, you might loss its water-soluble nutrients. Meanwhile, while we were busy listening about the details of RiCo Corn Rice and its humble beginnings, Chef Jessie was busy in the kitchen preparing our sumptuous lunch having RiCo corn rice in it.

It was indeed a yummy afternoon towards a healthy life. The locally produced RiCo corn rice is a first from the Philippines, thus, it also provides an increased livelihood for our farmers and develop our country’s natural resources. My take on RiCo Corn rice, I love it and definitely introduce this to my family and loved ones. My Mom loves rice but she’s diabetic that’s why she needs to be watchful on what she eats. By having RiCo corn rice on our table every meal makes her life wonderfully healthy and of course, us her kids, would absolutely on our way to a yummy healthy life’s journey. It tasted like real rice so there’s nothing to worry about plus each grain is loaded with nutrients that we needed. I, basically needed nutrients for my eyesight. Having this daily on our meal – breakfast, lunch & dinner – is such bliss!
