Travelogue: 10 reasons why you should visit Cavinti, Laguna (thru Cavinti Eco-Adventure Tour)
Life has a lot of surprises as well as Mother Earth. One just has to be ready to embrace changes and challenges and of course, to appreciate beauty that money can’t buy but man has a great participation on preserving those free resources that God bestowed upon us, nature! I was in full gratitude when Herald Bebis organized a blogger tour to help local government unit and to help to boost the tourism of Cavinti, Laguna last week, January 10-11, 2014. It was an awesome act of kindness to make Cavinti to be known nationwide and even worldwide. With that said, I was such a lucky gal to get invited on that beautiful province for 2 days journey where what I can see were lots of greens and water. And upon writing this entry, I am already hoping and wishing to get back to that paradise!
Meanwhile, as I wanted to share with you all the details we’ve done during our 2-day getaway. Let me share with you first the reasons on WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT CAVINTI, LAGUNA the soonest possible. And I know each reason that I will be posted here deserves a single entry which I will be posted on the coming days, so stay tuned as I will flood you with something colorful and impressively awesome.
It was our first stop where we had our sumptuous breakfast. And when I said sumptuous, I am picky when it comes to dinuguan but the one we had was flavorful and paired with puto, well it was way better than Goldilocks’s dinuguan. Well, I guess, you have to order this prior on your booking so you can indulge with this while in this place. Meanwhile, Bumbungan Eco-Park is located in Brgy Tibatib, Cavinti, Laguna. It was dammed at the section where the top of the spillway also served as a wet bridge on the Lumban-Caliraya-Cavinti road. After the bridge was constructed, the dam and adjacent land became the Eco-Park with huts and bathroom facilities for the tourist.
Want to score high-quality and high-quality pandan bags and hats? Then it is a must for you to visit the Pandan Weaving Center. This is the place where sambalilo (straw hat) and other handicraft made-out-of-pandan leaves made that came from the rain forest of Mount Banahaw and nearby mountains and forests. It is located in the covered basketball court of Cavinti. These colorful big and small handicrafts are sold in a very affordable price. By having this, it helps more families to have a better living.
|El Salvador del Mundo|
Going to Cavinti Falls also known as Pagsanjan Falls during our school days is a bit challenging because you’re going there via trekking for almost an hour. But don’t fret, as there are resting areas where you can take a rest and regain your energy for another set of walking, hiking, trekking and rappelling. While having a challenging “going down” trekking you can enjoy an overlooking greens and waters or even hug a tree in Pueblo El Salvador Nature Park. This is the route that one must take if you’re coming from Cavinti going to Cavinti Falls.

Finally, this was my first time to see Pagsanjan Falls which is in the perimeter of Caviniti Laguna. Thus, naming it with Cavinti Falls today as it is should be Cavinit’s pride. Anyhow, the over thousand steps going down and rappelling twice was all worth it. Though, you should be cautious as there were steps that were too narrow. Once you get to the magical Cavinti Falls, you’ll be amazed on how beautiful our world is. And there’s also a water rapid adventure where tourist can experience to ride on a balsa and go under the waterfalls wherein a Devil’s Cave hide beyond it and enjoy a cold swim.
… Churches! We have plenty of them here in our country. And one of the oldest God’s home is the Cavinti Church which was built on 1621. It was built at an unusual location way back in 1600s that had been revealed to two men known as the Puhawan brothers. This legend says that these two brothers were searching for something to eat when they discovered an image of El Salvador at this spot. When they took the picture to their home in Lumban, then they found out that the image is lost. They look for it and were amazed to find the image in exactly the same place where they first found it. The Cavinti Church now stands on the holy ground where the image was discovered.

Caliraya Lake Mountain Resort is perfect for team building and physical activities. But if you want have some “me-time” or wanted to emote for a while and reflect on God’s blessing or to know yourself more, a boat ride in the lake is suited for you where you go around and will across the open sea while looking on those elegant private resorts nearby and places that you once seen in the movie (hint: pantayin sa sindak si Barbara).
LAGO Fishing Village
|greens all over!|
To be honest, I found fishing a bit of an “oldie” thing as it needs a lot of patience as you wait for the fish to be caught. Well, Lago Fishing Village made me to think beyond of it. It has lots of coconut trees which I am fond of, lots of green grasses, and a corner perfect for an OOTD. Oh wait; there are also amazing room interiors wherein each room is decorated differently. Well, waking up on something like this every day is truly bliss. Hmmm… can I score a night or 2 night stay on this place, please?
Japanese Garden & Cavinti Spillway
It seems like Cavinti, Laguna connotes with something that has to do with family. Japanese Garden is a place where you can transport to a country without getting a visa, passport and expensive tickets. Yeah right, you, together with your families and friends can go to a Japanese world without spending, all you need is blanket, basket full of foods and drinks and more stories to be shared to your loved ones at Japanese Garden. Now, you have other options on where to treat your families and friends.
…. And here’s another reason – seeing Rence Rapanot in person.
He is one of the talented contestants of The Voice Philippines Season 2, the pride of Cavinti, Laguna. He is one of the semi-finalists and I bet he has the talent that we are looking forward. I can’t wait to hear him sing live. Hmmm... Perhaps in the Water Sports Olympics happening next month, February 8-14, 2015, as I really look forward into it.
