    1. Healthy and Balanced Diet


    Your food habit highly helps you to keep a sound body as well as great eye health. Foods rich in antioxidants, like Vitamin A & C, green vegetables, fishes contain the nutrients that are great for eyesight. A balanced diet can highly help you in preventing long-term diseases like diabetes. Therefore, any secondary eye problems related to such long-term diseases can be avoided effectively.

    Sunglasses are one of the top-rated fashion accessories all over the world. However, shades are also a great tool to keep you protected against the UV-ray damage of the sun. The UV-rays of the sun can severely harm the various parts of your eye and lead you towards permanent blindness. Nowadays, technology has enabled the shades to block almost 99-100% of harmful UV rays. A good pair of sunglasses can also protect your eyes from the glare of sunlight and effectively protect your eyes.

    3. Minimize the Exposure to Computer or Smartphone Screen

    • Avoid the glare from windows and lights. Use an anti-glare screen or glasses if required.
    • If you use a glass, make sure it’s up to date and suitable for looking at computer screens.
    • Choose a comfortable, supportive chair. Make sure it lies in the optimum position for you.
    • If you are using a computer, make sure to keep the top of the monitor boundary aligned to your eyes. That way, your eyes will be slightly looking down to see the monitor. It will provide some comfort.
    • For severe cases of eye strain, consult a doctor within the earliest possible time. A computer glass can help in decreasing the condition.
    • Blink more or try artificial tears if you suffer from dry eyes.

    4. Be Observant About Your Eye Problem


    The problems of your eyesight may not be a sudden problem. It can show several minor signs over time. A routine visit to the eye doctor can be pretty helpful. However, you need to keep a careful eye on the symptoms all the time. Hazy vision, double vision, trouble seeing in low light conditions, constant eye pain, and swelling are some of the early signs of damaging eyesight. If any of these symptoms, consult your eye doctor immediately. A detailed investigation of such symptoms can go a long way in the future.

    5. Grab Adequate Sleep


    When you are asleep, the eyes are kept at rest. So does your eye muscle. When you don’t grab enough sleep, many health problems can occur, and often your eye cannot get the relief it requires. So, to maintain a good eye condition, a good night’s sleep can make a huge difference.

    6. Avoid Smoking


    Your eyes get exposed to a high level of oxidative stress when you are smoking. Along with a variety of health conditions, smoking can also severely damage one’s eyesight. Cataracts, damage in the optic nerve, and macular degeneration can be induced due to smoking.

    7. Light Therapy


    In the past, light has always been known to harm one’s eyesight. However, with the modification of red light therapy, now it can effectively be used for the healing and therapeutic benefits for the eye. Red light can effectively be used for treating several eye conditions along with inducing healing from a molecular level. Unlike blue light, red light has no adverse effect. Therefore, recovery of the eyesight can be started within minutes without any pain or surgery.
