What you do to your body is a reflection of who you are.

Nowadays, not-so-healthy food fares are popping out at every corner of the metropolis. That’s why most of the young professionals and even busy individuals like the comfort it brings. Why? It can be easily prepared and can be eaten in the luxury of your own time and own place without exerting too much effort. But are we sure that what we take is good for our body? I am sure most of us didn’t even bother to check the ingredients nor the labels of what we usually supply to our body. Whether it is good or not we are just after to satisfy our cravings and to feed our hungry tummy. Albeit, I am one of those people who loves eating everywhere and trying new food fares available around – street foods, fast foods, food stalls, etcetera and etcetera. I’m guilty of giving in with my not-so-healthy pleasures. The experience would be superb as happiness would be felt right after indulging on your favorite junk foods or snacks but only for a limited time but the effect of continuous doing it could be felt for long time and worst case – lifetime, yeah?

And just a thought comes to my mind as I listened to the disc jockey of one of the most tuned in radio station by taxis – what we do to our body is our choice, what we feed to our body is what we choose towards to our future.  And just like that, I was moved by these words. Yeah, I chose not to have a regular exercise that’s why I am not fit today, I chose not to eat healthy that’s why my immune system is not that better and the probability of getting sick is always high. Gee… what I have done!

With that having said, I realized that I should change the way I treat myself  NOW, not on the next day, not later but NOW. I should take action for my betterment – have a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Having a family with hypertension, I, too, should also take consider of what is the proper diet that I will follow. Of course, in that case google always come handy. Based on what I researched, DASH diet best fit for me. The DASH diet (Dietary Approached to Stop Hypertension) is a dietary pattern promoted by the U.S.-based National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (part of the National Institutes of Health or NIH, an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services) to prevent and control hypertension. More so, we must also be aware of having good blood circulation and we should avoid having internal bleeding, so please make yourself a favor, it’s good to see your doctor once in a while.

Meanwhile, to know more of blood circulations please check out thrombocyte.com as it has a very informative site that explains the role of thrombocytes in blood clotting. They are small blood components whose function is to stop bleeding, sticking to the lining of blood vessels. These cells are produced in the bone marrow.

So guys and gals, please be good to your body. Have a 6 to 8-hour sleep, eat healthy diet and exercise regularly. What you do to your body is a reflection of who you are. And I am sure, we wanted it to be a great one!

Happy weekend!
